I hope you enjoy this video tutorial as much as we do! It is one of the best to be found and the sculptor Joanna Mozdzen is without a doubt a master.
She immigrated from Poland to London, Ontario, Canada, and also spent a year and a half in Italy immersing herself in art and architecture.
In her artist statement of hers, she says, βIn 2007, I overcame my personal fears and pursued a full-time career as a sculptor/mask maker. I think it's something we can all relate to:Β the fact that we have to overcome our fears to pursue our art."
And he's gotten through it, as evidenced by the incredible body of work he's created.
"As a child, I loved to draw, and the main themes of my artistic endeavors focused primarily on the human face, emphasizing its various facial expressions," says Mozdzen.
She recently taught an introduction to sculpture of human figures at the Arts Project in London, Ontario. Check out this beautiful video tutorial, complete with a tasteful, understated soundtrack.
